CoQ10 Dissolution Claims

Q-Gel® CoQ10 passes the dissolution test and provides optimum relative bioavailability as evidenced in human, animal and in-vitro studies. We have the proof in the clinical trials. There are a number of clever ways that advertisers of many other types of CoQ10 market their product to get you to believe that they have a highly bioavailable form of CoQ10. One of the most recent claims is for a chewable form of CoQ10, a “melt” product that claims it is the “fastest-absorbing” coenzyme Q10 product available.

Tishcon Corp. (the manufacturer of the Q-Gel® CoQ10 that we sell), tests many bioavailability enhanced CoQ10 products on the market for their dissolution and/or bioavailability – especially those that make claims that would seem to put them in the same category with Q-Gel® CoQ10. This “melt” product was specifically tested. And, yes their product is fast disintegrating***, (it is NOT fast dissolving -- see below), but the CoQ10 in it is still insoluble.

***Disintegrating: This means that the tablet when chewed falls apart into tiny particles but the CoQ10 present is still in an insoluble form. The following quote is directly from a senior scientist at Tishcon Corp. about this CoQ10 “melt” product:

“We have tested the tablets and they show 0% dissolution. Fast acting means nothing. One needs to ask the manufacturer the following question: What is the percentage of dissolution and relative bioavailability of their product in humans?
